The original description reads: “Simple earthenware made over a fire serves different purposes, such as containers for water, for rice cooking, and for worshiping, based on their shapes. The photo was taken by Mori Ushinosuke in October 1914. On the right side is a ceramic pitcher shaped like a gourd, used to steam food. On the left side, the three ceramic containers with handles are used to carry water. In the center, the smallest container is used for worship and is to be buried with the dead in the tomb. The woven basket contains some tools for making earthenware. All the pottery containers in the photo are rough blanks that need to be dried and baked.
