Aborigines getting water for the Japanese

NCL Special Collection / 4054 / Printed in Japan / About 1910s / 《Faces of the Century (Part II)》

The original description: “In need of drinking water, savages are instructed to scoop water with bamboo containers.” Most of the aborigines in the photo carry two bamboo containers with them, and many of the Japanese carry guns. They are probably what was called “Tobatsu-tai” at the time.
